SSI Scuba Diver
The SSI Scuba Diver is an introductory certification. It is ideal for the holiday maker who only wants to do a couple of dives per year.
A subset of the SSI Open Water Diver, the SSI Scuba Diver allows you to become a certified diver with minimal time in the classroom.
As an SSI Scuba Diver you will be certified to go diving under direct supervision of an SSI DiveCon Instructor or a more qualified guide.
If you or your children are between 10 and 14 years of age, there is the SSI Junior Scuba Diver training programme. This programme/course will teach you the basics of scuba diving, including the necessary equipment and techniques.
The course consists of theory lessons, dives in confined water and two dives in the sea or lake.
SSI Open Water Diver
This course is all about the basic training for the independent diver.
You will receive the benefit of our Instructor’s knowledge and receive individual tuition.
Our Instructor will guide you through the wonderful experience of the underwater world, building your confidence step by step.
On completion of the SSI Open Water Diver Course you will want to continue your diving career with various speciality courses, designed to train, educate and prepare you for your own personal specific areas of diving.
SSI Advanced Adventure Diver and Advanced Open Water Diver
These two courses are based on the classic beginners course, the SSI Open Water Diver.
You will learn additional skills and gain more experience, whilst taking participating in various speciality areas ie. Wreck Diving, Night Diving, Deep Diving.
Upon successful completion of these two courses, you will be qualified to involve yourself more in the many
SSI Speciality Dives.
DAN First Aid, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
DAN Emergency First Aid is an innovative First Aid programme with comprehensive training in Primary Care (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) and Secondary Care (First Aid).
In Primary Care (CPR), you will learn how you can help in life-threatening situations.
Secondary Care (First Aid) gives you the skills required that are important in providing assistance, when Medical Emergencies are delayed or even, do not exist.
The DAN First Aid Course shows you how you can help in an emergency quickly and effectively.
From this course you will learn the latest procedures of emergency care by non-professionals.
It is an extremely flexible course as you can study the theory in your own time, at home.
The practical lessons are conducted by qualified DAN Fist Aid Course Instructors.
SSI Stress and Rescue Diver
Based on the previously acquired skills.
This course is all about being in control when possible problem situations arise.
Quick, effect, correct response in the underwater world is crucial.
The SSI Stress and Rescue Diver course trains and prepares you for avoidance of any diving emergencies, together with learning the various techniques to manage such situations. In addition to these skills, you will gain confidence as a Diver and prepare yourself for the next stage as SSI Master Diver SSI Dive Control Specials.
This course has some challenges, but is very rewarding.
Whilst the topic has a very serious nature, the training can also be fun and rewarding.
SSI Master Diver
To apply for this course, you will have completed the Advanced Open Water Course, together with the Stress and Rescue Diver’s training, the DAN First Aid course and at least four speciality courses. In addition you will have at least 50 dives in your log.
Having qualified and completed this course, you will now be recognised as one of the best trained divers.
SSI Dive Control Specialist
Your training as an SSI Instructor begins with the SSI Dive Control Specialist course. This course requires the successful completion of the SSI Advanced Open Water and the Stress and Rescue Divers Course.
Your diving skills and previous training now develop on a professional level.
During an extensive course block, which can be attended on either full or part-time basis, you will learn how to monitor diving activities and assist during training.
Upon the successful completion of this course, you will be qualified to participate in diving activities in different environments. You will be able to actively contribute to the training of beginner divers, including guided dive excursions.
You will be entitled to participate in SSI Try Scuba Diving and Scuba Skills.
Under your supervision, Non divers can also, as part of the SSI Snorkelling programme,enjoy their first experience of the underwater world.
SSI Associate Instructor and Instructor Training Course
After successful completion of the Dive Control Specialist Course together with one hundred dives, you can now apply for the SSI Instructor Training course.
On this course, you will be trained as SSI Associate Instructor. You will receive the Associate Instructor certification confirming the successful participation in the Instructor Training course.
This certification is recognised worldwide under the SSI Instructor Training Facility Platinum.
